Heart Control vs competitors

Most heart-rate apps are built for either short morning HRV readings, workouts, or a research log that only works with Polar H10. Heart Control occupies a different niche: hours of everyday monitoring with any BLE chest strap, a symptom diary, alerts, and a report for your doctor.

What sets us apart

What distinguishes Heart Control from HRV apps, ECG loggers, and sports trackers.

Hours, not minutes

Background recording for 2–12+ hours with auto-start when data arrives. Not a 2-minute morning ritual and not only a workout session.

Any BLE chest strap

Polar, Wahoo, Garmin, Magene, CooSpo, and others with the standard Heart Rate Service (0x180D). No expensive Polar H10 required, unlike ECG Logger and Kubios.

Smart alerts

High and low heart rate, sensor disconnect, missing data, low phone battery. Not a priority in HRV Logger, Kubios, or ECG apps.

Symptom diary

Quick markers and notes on the chart: palpitations, dizziness, stress, coffee, medication. Link how you feel to heart-rate data.

Recording quality

Connection gaps and data coverage are shown clearly. You can see whether the recording is usable for analysis — like a clinical Holter, but in a consumer app.

PDF report for your doctor

A summary with the chart, events, episodes, and alerts — not just an ECG snapshot, but a structured document for the whole session.

Data stays on the device

No required account or cloud. Recordings, HRV, and tests stay local — you choose when to export or share.

Fitness tests

6-minute test, squats, heart-rate recovery, and HRV. Structured load with trends — which pure HRV loggers do not offer.

When to choose Heart Control

A good fit if you need

  • to monitor heart rate for hours in daily life, not only during a workout;
  • to use your own chest strap of any brand;
  • to mark symptoms and events and see them on the chart;
  • to get alerts for high/low HR and sensor issues;
  • to export PDF or CSV for yourself or a doctor;
  • to keep data locally, without a cloud account.

Choose another app if

  • you need a live ECG waveform — ECG Logger or Kubios with Polar H10;
  • you need a Readiness Score every morning — Elite HRV or SELFLOOPS;
  • you need export to Kubios Desktop / EDF for research;
  • the main use is workouts and routes — Wahoo, Strava, Garmin.

Heart Control is not a cardiac monitor replacement and not a scientific HRV tool at Kubios level. It is a “Holter-lite for everyday life”: long monitoring + events + alerts + a report on any BLE strap that provides RR.

Important: Heart Control is for wellness and fitness self-monitoring only. It does not diagnose disease or replace medical advice. The comparison is based on publicly available information about competitors and may change.

FAQ

How is Heart Control different from Polar Beat and sports apps?

Sports apps are built for workouts and routes. Heart Control is designed for long sessions in daily life: BLE chest-strap recording, events and symptoms on the chart, alerts, and PDF/CSV export without a cloud account.

Do I need a Polar H10?

No. Any chest strap with the standard BLE Heart Rate Service (UUID 0x180D) is enough: Polar, Wahoo, Garmin, Magene, CooSpo, and others. Optical watches and ANT-only devices are not supported.

Is this a medical Holter or a diagnosis?

No. Heart Control is a wellness and fitness self-monitoring app. It does not diagnose disease or replace medical advice.
